  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Funeral Arranger to join this expanding company based in Mid Essex. There are 3 Funeral offices within the group based at Southminster, Danbury and Maldon.

    Responsibilities:

    As a Funeral Arranger you will be responsible for the day to day administration of either the Maldon or Danbury offices (TBC) in accordance with company policy, arranging funerals, liaising with third parties, suppliers and delivering a personal service of the highest quality, based on trust and recommendation. You will be able to understand and address the needs of the bereaved.

    There is a possibility of the role developing into a managerial position for a candidate with the right attributes.

    Experience required:

    Ideally you will have funeral arranging & administration experience.

    Vacancy for Site Supervisor (for Bakers of Danbury Ltd)

    Bakers of Danbury are seeking a Site Supervisor to join their highly respected multi-disciplinary professional organisation. The successful applicant will be joining an organisation that prides itself on attention to detail and the quality of building it constructs, conserves, refurbishes or repairs. As principal contractor, projects include the new construction and refurbishment of residential dwellings and commercial properties.

    Responsibilities:

    The successful applicant will be supervising all aspects of site including but not limited to Health and Safety, ordering materials, maintaining site diary, ensuring contract program is adhered to, liaising with relevant Contract Manager and ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard. The position will involve travel to and from sites, therefore a full driving licence is required

    Package:

    Subcontractors for Insurance Repair wanted (for Bakers of Danbury Ltd)

    Our Specialist Insurance Repair Department are looking for subcontractors across all trades, to provide additional support within the following postcode areas: CB, IP, CO, CM, SS, RM, IG, ME, DA, CT and SG.

    Insurance repair works range from a full underpinning scheme, to repairing damage caused by vehicle impact, fire, flooding or an escape of water.

    Bakers of Danbury work closely with leading insurance companies, specialist loss adjusters and engineers to repair all types of insured risks to domestic, commercial and industrial premises, usually whilst still occupied.

    We understand it can be a difficult time when making an insurance claim, therefore it is important that our staff and sub-contractors are sympathetic and work closely with building owners and/or occupants to complete the repairs to a high standard, with minimal disruption and inconvenience.

    Building Works Surveyor (for Pickford Builders Ltd)

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Works Surveyor to join our reputable and long established local Building Company based in Essex.

    The role is with our busy insurance repairs department dealing with flood, subsidence, fire, impact and escape of water damage claims.

    The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to survey, assess and prepare schedules of repairs from initial site visit. Dealing with domestic and commercial properties, the role will also involve overseeing the management of subsequent works.

  • Salary Circa £ tba per annum, depending on experience and agreement

  • Duties will include:

  • Working with our client’s insurance repair department, policy holders and professionals to schedule and agree works to various scopes of building repairs (typically £15k - £100k value)
  • Collate costing and values using NSR system rates
  • Preparing valuations on current contracts including variations and final accounts
  • Negotiating and procuring sub-contract packages
  • Production of accurate monitoring and progress reports
  • Monitoring effective management of appointed subcontractors workmanship and Health & Safety
  • Managing policy holder expectations
  • Managing documents and information flow
  • Experience necessary:

  • Must have or be studying towards a building related qualification
  • Must have a wide based knowledge of the industry practices
  • Previous experience in a similar role an advantage
  • Other qualities required of the successful individual:

  • The person should be a positive individual prepared to join our team of experienced professional builders
  • The candidate should be capable of working as part of a team but also function well on their own
  • They must have excellent communication skills
