Construction Claims Co-ordinator (Insurance Works)

We are looking to recruit a Construction Claims Co-ordinator (Insurance Works) to join our Specialist Insurance Repairs Department. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years administration experience, ideally gained within the Construction or Insurance industry.

Working hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Salary will be between £17,000 and £23,000 per annum, dependent on experience and ability. Annual Bonus (discretionary) and Auto Enrolment Pension included.

Main Duties:

  • Deal with new enquiries, including arranging appointments with Clients/Customers, setting up contract files and presenting these to the Contracts Manager.
  • Assist the Contracts Managers with obtaining specialist quotes and preparing tenders.
  • Liaise with Contracts Managers to convert enquiries to onsite works and highlight programs, leadtimes and cost to contractors.
  • Assist Contracts Managers with ensuring claims are managed through to completion, which include being the main focal point for daily enquiries from all parties including clients, contractors and customers.
  • Prepare revised quotations and obtain required documentation for the Contracts Managers and once agreed submit interim and final accounts to Clients.
  • Maintain good communication with Contract Managers and all parties involved with claims via various methods including email, telephone and letter. Ensuring that all communication is logged on various systems.
  • Assist with processing daily, weekly and monthly reporting to clients using a variety of Clients web based systems.
  • Ability to understand, implement and maintain Client and internal SLA’s.
  • Other Duties:

  • Maintain Contracts Managers calendars.
  • Assist with day to day general enquires.
  • Office holiday cover.
  • Surge office cover.
  • Any other duties to assist with the smooth running of the office.
  • Experience required:

  • 2 years minimum office experience within an Administration role.
  • Experience of building industry an advantage.
  • Insurance contractor experience also an advantage.
  • Person description:

  • Good interpersonal skill and a key team player.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and workload.
  • Be able to work unsupervised and within a team environment.
  • Be able to read and understand construction schedules.

    We are looking to recruit a Bench Joiner to join our expanding Joinery division specialising in bespoke, ecclesiastical joinery and carving.

    Applicants who are recently qualified may apply, although experience in wood machining and carving would be beneficial.

    Subcontractors for Insurance Repair wanted

    Our Specialist Insurance Repair Department are looking for subcontractors across all trades, to provide additional support within the following postcode areas: CB, IP, CO, CM, SS, RM, IG, ME, DA, CT and SG.

    Insurance repair works range from a full underpinning scheme, to repairing damage caused by vehicle impact, fire, flooding or an escape of water.

    Bakers of Danbury work closely with leading insurance companies, specialist loss adjusters and engineers to repair all types of insured risks to domestic, commercial and industrial premises, usually whilst still occupied.

    We understand it can be a difficult time when making an insurance claim, therefore it is important that our staff and sub-contractors are sympathetic and work closely with building owners and/or occupants to complete the repairs to a high standard, with minimal disruption and inconvenience.
