Specialist Stonemasonry

Our dedicated master craftsmen combine traditional methods of stonemasonry with new techniques to provide the highest quality stone products.

Our wholly-owned subsidiary, Collins & Curtis Masonry Ltd, has been producing high quality stone products since 1925. This enables Bakers of Danbury to fully control their supply chain which assists in preventing delays caused by changes to stone masonry requirements.

Our skilled masons can produce everything from delicately hand carved sculpture and sympathetic additions to listed buildings, to high quality granite surfaces, wall panels and marble or stone fireplaces.

Our experienced staff will be happy to advise you on the best choice of stone for your project, including types of stone and availability as well as techniques to ensure any new stone supplied is fit for purpose and suitable for the intended use. We can, if required, manage the complete process from survey, individual selection of stone at the quarry, delivery to our factory, cutting and working to size, delivery and installation.

Stonemasonry Projects

Recent projects include Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, County Hall London, the Law Society Building, Shop fronts in Pall Mall, Oxford Street and Bond Street, London; Westminster College and Gonville & Caius Colleges, Cambridge and numerous churches and cathedrals in East Anglia.

About Collins and Curtis Masonry

Collins & Curtis was founded in Ipswich, Suffolk nearly 100 years ago, by two local stonemasons who wished to produce high quality natural stone products to the surrounding area.

These days, the business is owned by its managers and operates from a modern, purpose-built modern factory in Ipswich with its own on-site saw mill and fully equipped masons’ workshops.

We are a respected contractor, with a reputation for priding ourselves on attention to detail and producing quality stone products that include bespoke architectural, ecclesiastical and memorial stonemasonry, as well as cills, copings, fireplaces, flooring, kitchen and bathroom tops and other unique items.
