A Unique Training Programme for Heritage Building Works
We are actively helping to reduce the skills shortage within the construction industry, in particular the heritage sector, by creating two new places for Trainee Heritage Building Craftsmen within our Church Works department.
Accredited Site Based Heritage Building Training
This is a full time, permanent position with an 18 month internal training programme built around an onsite based NVQ and externally accredited in-house training modules, which will enable the trainees to become qualified and skilled Heritage Building Craftsmen with the chance to progress further.
The Trainees will carry out a variety of conservation and restoration projects on churches, cathedrals and ancient buildings and will cover all learning and assessments onsite.
Your Personal Mentor - An Experience Craftsman
Both trainees will be assigned a Mentor - an experienced and skilled craftsman who works directly for Bakers of Danbury. Throughout the training programme, the trainees will be working closely with their Mentors to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in stonemasonry preservation skills, together with a programme of accredited heritage building modules which will cover lime plastering, carpentry repairs and other skills necessary to carry out conservation and repair works to churches and ancient monuments.
Trainee Heritage Building Craftsman
On successful completion of the accredited training programme the trainees will have a varied and valuable skill set, and will continue to work on many interesting church projects with the opportunity for subsequent training and internal promotion within the company.
